What is Boomerang Prepaid?
It is a new Prepaid Wireless rate plan designed to capture a significant share of prospective customers from emerging segments requiring but not willing to pay a deposit. The purpose of this rate plan is to offer pricing options focused on customers who want a regular rate plan without the hassle of a monthly bill.

How does it work?
When the customer initiates service, the customer pays for the $34.95 or $24.95 rate plan up front, which gives the customer a specific number of "weekday" and "night and weekend " minutes. Once one of the buckets (weekday or night and weekend) has been depleted, the customer must add more money to the account to continue to use the phone for the other bucket minutes and any post-package minutes.
As no bill is sent out, the customer must come into a retail store each month (prior to the first of the month) to pay for the rate plan in order to maintain uninterrupted service. A customer must always have a positive balance to use the minutes. As a precaution, SmartPay will actually charge the customer’s account $24.00 and $34.00, leaving $0.95 in the account to keep the customer’s access to their bucket minutes.
The system "charges" the customer’s account for the rate plan on the 1st of each month. If the customer has not paid for his service by the time the system charges his account, then the customer will not be able to use the phone until payment is made. After six months of non-use, a customer’s number will be deactivated and recycled.
If the customer uses up all of the minutes that come with the rate plan, then the customer can purchase additional post-package minutes.
*Customers can dial *369 from their wireless phone to hear their monetary balance (free call).
*Minutes do not carry over to the next month.
Proration Example: A customer purchases the $34.95 or $24.95 rate plan in the middle of the month. (The system will always automatically prorate the account.) The customer will have an overage balance. The sales representative will need to check the customer’s balance (after the activation is saved in SmartPay) to advise the customer of their overage dollar amount. If the customer uses up all of his package minutes, the overage will go towards post-package minutes. If the customer does not use up all of his post-package minutes, then the overage will go towards the next month’s rate plan fee.
Post-Package minutes Example: A customer has used up all of the package minutes and comes into the store or agent to purchase $10.00 of post-package minutes. Any balance that is in his account at the end of the month will carry over and be used for the rate plan fee (charged on the 1st of the month). If there is a negative balance after this occurs, then the customer will not be able to use his phone, even though the customer had purchased the post-package minutes. The customer will need to add additional money to the account to cover the rate plan charged at the 1st of the month.
